MANOR & WINES
This traditional Quinta do Douro, has belonged to its current owners for several generations, dating back to its origin in 1740.
Casa das Torres lies embedded in a terraced vineyard estate 30 hectares in size (Quinta das Torres), set in slate-rich ground with sharp inclination and south-eastern exposure.
Some 4 Km from the town of Régua, its vines stand in the heart of the Demarcated Region of Douro (Baixo Corgo), within the former Vinos de Feitoria area, demarcated in 1756 by the Marquis de Pombal. They are also a part of the current sub-region of the Douro, subject of the recent world heritage classification by UNESCO, in 2002.
The main (95%) grape breeds cultivated, are:
Red – Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz y Tinto Cão
- Sustainable Viniculture
All grapes used in the preparation of Casa das Torres wines are picked by hand, at their optimal point of maturity and with the greatest of care, to ensure that the natural cycle of the plant and the fruit are comprehensively respected.
The grapes are produced under “integrated production” according to “agri-environmental measures”, in strict compliance with all existing national and communitary environmental standards.
